Private lessons

Here at Rock Academy, we believe that private one-on-one lessons are the starting point of developing and honing your skills on your instrument. Studying with some of the best instructors and performers in the scene will give you the best outcome for comprehension and fluency on your instrument. Our teachers are well versed in many styles or genres and can offer lessons for all students at any level, beginner to advanced. Whether it’s basic rock beats, campfire chords or more intricate concepts, our teachers will ensure the very best education for you or your child and get you prepared for playing music in the real world, outside of bedrooms and practice rooms.

Rock Boot Camp

Outside of regular lessons, Rock Academy will be starting Rock Boot Camps in the Spring of 2026, open to all (ages 13-19), giving young students the opportunity to play in a group setting and understand what modern Pop and Rock music is all about. Students are encouraged to continue playing in their bands outside of the Rock Boot Camp and hone their skills as a unit. Boot Camps will be open to all students, regardless of whether they attend Rock Academy for private lessons or take lessons from another school, or instructor. More information to follow.

  • Rock Academy is located in the stage area of Tribal Connections, 41 McRae St, Okotoks, Ab. The entrance to the Rock Academy is located on the side of the building, not the front entrance. Lessons run from Mon-Wed between the hour of 4-9pm

  • Rock Academy currently offers lessons in Guitar, Drums, Bass and Vocals.

  • The most important thing to begin your musical journey is a sufficient instrument to practice at home and perform with - if you choose to go the performance route. Electric guitarists and bassists will also need an amp, cables, picks and a tuner as well, for keeping your guitar in tune while practicing, which will also help train your ears as you learn.

    Drummers will need a functioning drum kit at home, whether it’s acoustic or electric, to practice rudiments and drum beats you learn with your private instructor.

  • Guitar and Voice lessons will be offered both in-studio and in-home. The advantage of in-home lessons are that we come to you! We all have very busy schedules in this fast paced world, and sometimes managing all the different schedules between different children can be a challenge. Allow us to lighten the load and we’ll send a teacher to you, where your child can learn from the comfort of their own home!
